Departure from the capital Antananarivo to reach the deep South of the Great Island. Continuation on a track of red earth in a little-known region with forgotten villages.
Arriving at Fort Dauphin, the southernmost city of Madagascar, is a small and pretty town that is still quite isolated from the rest of the country and enjoys a magnificent location. It dominates in fact a concave and sandy bay bathed by the crystal clear sea and littered with semi-sunken wrecks. The sea is rich in shellfish and fish, while the coast is very lush for the presence of orchids, euphorbias, thorny plants and trees of the traveller. The surroundings offer a variety of unique landscapes and spectacular contexts remarkable; you can reach beautiful areas such as the Lokaro peninsula, Lake Anony, the Nahampoana Forest Reserve, and the Berenty Private Reserve, which alone is worth a trip to Fort Dauphin.

Path not difficult, but in the parks and reserves requires a good physical form, considering that the visits are made between the 3 / 4 hours of walking not very tiring but sometimes inaccessible.

IMPORTANT

The visit to the bay of Lokaro is made on local boats transformed to the need for tourist transport; get K-way, if during the crossing of the channel that connects Fort Dauphin to Lokaro, if it rains and/or there is too much wind to bother the passers-by with some unintentional water spray.

At Fort Dauphin : winds between September and December - rainy between June and July.

Mobile phones only work in the large centers provided in the circuit.
